Talk about a show that's hitting every note with audiences! FOX's freshman hit "Glee" has jumped to the head of the class. The musical dramedy about a high school glee club has matched its on-screen success with hit downloads of the songs performed on the show.

"Glee has absolutely changed the way music and TV interact, because here's a way for musicians to get their songs played every week and the ability for people to purchase them happen right after the show airs," said Ann Donahue of Billboard magazine.

"I think we are, at one point, 8 million downloads right now,” actor Kevin McHale said. “I have goosebumps talking about it."

"The thought that that's a reality that we have songs on iTunes - that's nuts because I don't associate myself with those amazing people that are on that iTunes,” actor Dianna Argon said.

Up next: two CDs and a summer tour! Song clearance can be hard to get, but now that madonna has opened up her entire catalogue, others are sure to follow.

"I think with ‘Glee’ out of the box, the industry is very interested in helping out,” Donahue said. “I think they saw this as a new platform to promote music from the get-go and part of that might have been the success from ‘American Idol’ and people thinking, ‘Wow, when people tune into TV, they really want to buy it after they hear it.’”

The show has also spurred interest in glee clubs at schools across the country and the cast is set to sing the national anthem before game three of the World Series in Philadelphia this Saturday. With that kind of exposure, the sky's the limit.

"It’s really crazy and we are so happy it’s so well received," Argon said.
