Accessories for your Apple iPad. The iPad is bare bones compared to a notebook computer; so you’ll need to pony up some dough for accessories. Apple’s online store lists 7 add-ons . You can get a case to protect your new purchase and a keyboard to type away (the iPad has a virtual keyboard). A charging dock is available as well as 6 foot long USB power adapter (all iPad’s comes with a shorter USB power adapter cable). If you want to transfer photos directly from your camera you’ll need the camera adapter , and if you want to show video’s from your iPad to your TV you’ll also need the TV adapter . Last but not least are headphones with a microphone so you can use Skype to make a phone call. Expanding the functionality of your iPad is fun but it’s not cheap. Buying all 7 accessories will cost $303 plus tax. While I think the iPad is very cool, if you get the low cost one at $499, add in the accessories at 303 +, you’re looking at a $800 investment. For that price you can get a nice notebook computer.
