SUAMICO - We have a very special treat from the NEW Zoo today. There are some new residents, two black-footed ferrets!
The black-footed ferret was first considered endangered in 1967. At one point, in the 1980's, there were only 18 of them found in the wild.
Light Hawk is a wildlife preservation organization. They have been instrumental in bringing these particular black ferrets to the NEW Zoo.
There are now 18 different reintroduction sited in 8 different states, including Canada and Mexico.
Neil Anderson has a special look at the newest residents, on only their second day at the zoo.
