VAN DYNE - Day 1 of the 2013 sturgeon spearing season is in the books. FOX 11's Emily Deem spent Sunday morning at a local registration station to see how many sturgeon had been registered, so far.
According to the Wisconsin DNR, only 39 fish were harvested on Lake Winnebago; 6 juvenile females, 16 adult females and 17 males.
Things were better on the upriver lakes, where 140 fish were taken. That included 12 juvenile females, 46 adult females and 82 males.
