APPLETON - The Ruel family is at it again!
Their home at 149 Ramlen Court in Appleton is transformed into a dazzling light display every Christmas season.
Lenny Ruel uses nearly 60,000 lights in the display which is also set to music. Observers can pull up to the front of the home, tune their radios to 106.9 FM and watch the magic happen. It's a labor of love Lenny starts work on in October, so it's ready for show the day after Thanksgiving.
This is the fourth year of the animated lights display. For the past three years, the Ruel family has collected monetary donations from those who come to see the display. All of the money is then donated to the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin-Fox Valley.
"We have a healthy, active 3 1/2-year-old daughter and we realize not everyone is fortunate to have a healthy child," says Lenny Ruel.
The Ruel's have raised a total of $2,000 the last two years of the display. They hope to exceed that this year.
The display is lit up Sunday - Thursday, 5 - 10 p.m. and Friday - Saturday, 5 - 11 p.m. It will be up and running until New Year's Day night. Again, the home is located at 149 Ramlen Court in Appleton.
FOX 11's Angela Kelly spent some time at the Ruel's home on Tuesday morning. Click on the video links to your left to see the dazzling display that was shown on Good Day Wisconsin.
