APPLETON - It's called, "Operation: A Sister's Love."
13-year-old Allie Broeniman of Appleton makes fleece blankets, then distributes them to sick children throughout Wisconsin.
Her 7-year-old sister, Emma -- who suffers from a genetic disorder known as Neurofibromatosis Type I, keeping her hospitalized much of the time -- inspired her to start the project.
So far, Allie's been able to make and distribute 167 blankets to sick children, including those at American Family Children's Hospital in Madison.
Saturday evening, Allie will hold a blanket-making party with her friends at the Sacred Hearth Church of Appleton.
