MANITOWOC - First Lutheran Church is finally beginning to assemble and install its new pipe organ.
Berghaus Organ Company of Bellwood, Illinois delivered the 38-rank three manual pipe organ Sunday. Congregation members carried the parts and equipment to the sanctuary.
The technicians began hoisting the 2300 pipes and auxiliary equipment into the balcony on Monday.
The church says assembly of the organ will take four weeks, and tuning and voicing will take another seven weeks.
Dedication services will take place Sunday, October 18, 2009.
FOX 11's Alison Struve was at First Lutheran Church Monday morning to see the process get started.
