Gary Arnoldi drove his 1981 Ford Escort to the studio Wednesday morning. His car was part of a Department of Energy program that converted American gasoline-fueled cars into electric cars to see how well they worked. The car uses 18 six-volt golf cart batteries. It gets 40 miles per charge and it takes 8 hours to charge. This will be Arnoldi's third year in the green parade.

The Green Parade is Saturday, May 5 in Green Bay's Broadway District. It starts at 11 a.m. and will feature 150 eco-enthusiasts with their earth-friendly floats, electric cars, animals, bicycles, and the Notre Dame Academy Jazz Band. The parade will be followed by an Eco Block Party next to the Neville Public Museum.
