Suamico - The NEW Zoo in Suamico has opened its new education center.
Exhibits of tarantulas, scorpions, boas, lizards and insects have been moved into the main hallway for visitors to see.
There's also a "conservation in action" map in the hall. Visitors are able to take a look at areas around the world where the NEW Zoo is supporting conservation projects.
The old education center was built in the 1950s. It will be converted into a new animal diet kitchen. The zoo is fundraising for the renovation.
Also at the NEW Zoo, volunteers are needed to carve pumpkins for the upcoming Zoo Boo event. The Zoo is holding a carving and decorating party on Wednesday, October 10th, from 5-8 p.m.
Volunteers will need to bring their own pumpkins and carving tools. The zoo will provide free pizza and soda.
