VILLAGE OF STOCKBRIDGE - The 2013 sturgeon spearing season begins in Wisconsin on Saturday, Feb. 9 at 6:30 a.m.
It lasts 16 days, or until the harvest caps have been reached. Click here for a look at the 2013 harvest caps.
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources reports so far, 12,092 licenses have been sold for the season. That number -- which includes licenses for spearing on Lake Winnebago and the Upriver Lakes -- is down 4.6% from 2012.
