The Sommer rock out

The Sommer, a pop-rock band from Sturgeon Bay is gearing up for a big statewide music competition and several shows in Sturgeon Bay.

The band will perform April 9th in the Green Bay regional competition for the statewide Launchpad music competition .  There are four regional competitions.  Finalists will advance to the state competition, where the winners will receive free studio recording time and a gig at this year's Summerfest.  The Launchpad music competition is for high school students who create bands outside of the classroom.

You can also see the Sommer in Sturgeon Bay.  They'll be performing April 2nd at Stone Harbor Resort and May 28 & 28 at Waterfront Mary's.

The Sommer is also working on its third album.
