Layered Lettuce Salad

1 head lettuce, cut up
1 pound bacon, cooked and chopped
1 12-oz bay steam fresh peas, cooked and cooled
1 medium onion, chopped
4-5 eggs hard boiled eggs, chopped
2 1/4 cups mayonnaise
salt and pepper to taste
3 Tbsp sugar
16 oz package shredded cheddar cheese
In a 13 x 9 pan layer chopped lettuce about 2 inches deep. Then layer cooked and crumbled bacon, cooked, and cooled peas. Then layer onions and boiled eggs. Mix mayonnaise and sugar and spread mayonnaise mixture on top of layered ingredients, then sprinkle cheddar cheese on top of that. Cover tightly and chill for a least 4 hrs.
