Barbecue Meatloaf Aussie Style

Ingredients:
Meatloaf:
1 pound lean ground beef
1 pound italian sausage
1 cup fine, dry breadcrumbs
6 ounces onion, finely diced
1 tablespoon curry powder
1 cup milk
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
1 egg, beaten
1 tablespoon garlic clove, chopped
Salt and pepper to taste
Sauce:
3 ounces onion, finely chopped
2 ounces olive oil
1/2 cup water
2 tablespoons dijon mustard
1 cup ketchup
1/2 cup beef stock
1/2 cup dry red wine
1/2 cup worcestershire sauce
4 tablespoons red wine vinegar
2 tablespoons instant espresso coffee
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
4 teaspoons lemon juice
Directions for meatloaf:
Combine all meatloaf ingredients in large bowl, except milk. Mix until ingredients are well incorporated. Add milk to meat mixture a little at a time until smooth, but firm. Shape into loaf and put into greased baking pan. Bake at 375 for 30 minutes.
Sauce:
Saute onions in oil until well caramelized, then add all other ingredients. Bring slowly to a boil, lower to medium boil, and simmer 10 to 15 minutes, or until reduced by about 1/2.
After loaf has cooked for 30 minutes, pour half of the sauce over the meat, return to oven and bake 30 minutes more, basting often with remaining sauce. Serve loaf hot in thick slices with remaining sauce.
