Flu-like illness closes St. Paul School

GREEN BAY - A flu-like illness has shutdown St. Paul Lutheran School in Green Bay for three days.

School officials say classes and after-school activities are canceled through Thursday.

The decision was made by the school and health officials after 30 students and 7 faculty and staff members were out sick Monday. That put the school very near a 30-percent absence rate.

The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction says the days will not have to be made up, but school officials are going to review the matter.

During the closure St. Paul Lutheran School will be thoroughly cleaned to control the spread of the illness.

The volleyball match against St. Mark scheduled for Wednesday will now take place on Friday at the same place and same time.
