GREEN BAY - A groundbreaking was held Tuesday morning for two new gardens at the Green Bay Botanical Garden.

The gardens, The Jenquine Overlook and The King Shade Garden, were made possible through donations.

The Jenquine Overlook will feature a pavilion structure and patio. That garden is named after Elsie Jenquine, an avid gardener.

The King Shade Garden, located across from the Children’s Garden, will feature a stream and plenty of hostas. That garden is a gift given from Herb and Gladys King.

“We want to share our love of gardening with other people. The whole entire idea of gardening has brought us together. It keeps us going in our retirement,” said Gladys.

Garden officials say construction of the gardens will start right away and plantings will begin next spring. Both gardens are expected to be completed in the fall of 2011.
