MADISON, Wis. (AP) - State lawmakers have passed a pair of bills that would ease regulations on crossbows and bow hunting.

The Assembly passed a measure on Tuesday that would eliminate the requirement resident and nonresident senior citizens get a permit to hunt bear, turkey and small game with a crossbow if they have the proper hunting licenses.

The Assembly also passed a bill that allow bow hunters to hunt immediately after purchasing a license. Currently they must wait three days between purchasing a license and hunting.

Both bills now go to the state Senate.
