GREEN BAY - Green Bay School Board Monday will review a feasibility study on if Franklin Middle School should be made into a K-8 school.
A feasibility study was released Friday - and will be discussed at the school board Monday. It recommends against the idea.
An excerpt from the report's summary:
"The study team recommends that the Board of Education not pursue the K-8 option at Franklin as a solution to resolve enrollment issues facing schools on the west side. It is projected that significant costs would occur that would not make this a viable option.
The team further recommends that boundary changes be examined. Utilization of west side schools should be studied to determine if alternate grade configurations to a K-8 would better meet the needs of the District. Finally, the team suggests that the District study whether some rental space could be consolidated into present District owned space. "
