GREEN BAY - The political world is responding to Trager's death.
In a statement released today, Representative Steve Kagen said, "I am shocked and saddened by today's news. The entire Kagen family extends their love and condolences to the Trager family in their time of need."
Some of republican candidates running for the 8th district seat commented as well.
Reid Ribble said, "Today is an incredibly sad day. Marc Trager was a devoted husband, father and respected member of our community. I have a profound respect for him and his family."
Marc Savard released a statement saying, "The news of Dr. Trager's death comes as a great shock and with deep personal sadness to me. Dr. Trager was a great American who wanted nothing but the best for his country and his community."
Terri McCormick said, "My condolences to Marc Trager's family. It's very sad and shocking news."
One candidate spoke to us today, about the friend he's lost.
"I mean this man he was a remarkable figure, and he wanted to make his community a better place. That was his drive, and for anyone that was able to see him up close and personal, they could see that," said State Rep. Roger Roth, (R) 8th Congressional District Candidate.
The Republican Party of Wisconsin also released a response.
"I was devastated to hear about the tragedy. Dr. Trager had established himself as a new and important voice in putting government back in the hands of the people," said Reince Priebus, Chairman of the Republican Party of Wisconsin.
