APPLETON - The Appleton Area School District will be making some tough budget decisions tonight. The district is facing a projected $2.4 million deficit next year.
Tonight, Board of Education Members will be meeting to sift through $2.8 million worth of potential cuts.
Items on the chopping block include 27.5 staff positions, reductions to curriculum and technology and cuts to the capital projects budget.
The district says it has identified more cuts that it needs to give board members the flexibility to keep items they feel are most important. FOX 11's Lindsay Veremis will have an update on this story at 5 p.m. and a full report tonight at 9.
