GREEN BAY (DOT) - The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is announcing the roundabout being built at the US 141/WIS29/County JJ intersection in the village of Bellevue will be open by 2 p.m. Wednesday. This completes stage one of this $2.9 million project.

The shoulders on County JJ (Manitowoc Road) from Steffens Court to Eaton Road where it crosses I-43 will remain closed.

Beginning Monday, September 13, County JJ from the off ramp from I-43 northbound to the on-ramp to I-43 southbound will be closed and a detour will be posted. Motorists will only be able to turn left from the northbound off ramp and right from the southbound off ramp. Night ramp closures will also be needed to complete work and will be announced. Work is expected to be completed during October.

Here are some tips for navigating the new Bellevue roundabout:

  • Choose the correct lane, slow down and obey traffic signs
  • Yield to pedestrians as you approach and exit the roundabout
  • Yield to all traffic on your left that is already in the roundabout
  • Enter the roundabout when there is a safe gap
  • Keep your speed low (10 – 15 mph) in the roundabout
  • Exit to the right
