BLACK CREEK - A congregation in Black Creek celebrated 150 years of faith and history Sunday.

The Center Emmanuel Church brought some of that history to life during a morning service.

Children from the congregation re-enacted a wedding service from the 1800s and wore the clothing of that time.

The service also featured several historical items, including a roller organ from the 1890s.

Members say the celebration not only honors the history of the church, but also of its people.

"It's the faith, and the feeling of the people working together and having faith in God to overcome adversities," said sesquicentennial committee co-chair Robin Rolfs.

The church has been around since the Civil War era.
