It happened Friday afternoon around 3:30 at the intersection of North 14th Street and Superior Avenue.

Police say the child was about four to five feet into the crosswalk when a red four door compact vehicle struck him, knocking him down.

The suspect then took off.  The child suffered a minor injury to his left leg.
