Fans flock to Lambeau

GREEN BAY - Although fans rushed downtown, more than a thousand others flocked to what they call the epicenter of it all...Lambeau Field.

From Lombardi Avenue, to the gates at Lambeau, more than a thousand fans chose to celebrate the Super Bowl win at Lambeau Field.

For most, the experience was hard to describe.

"This is crazy! Aaron Rogers is the best player in the NFL and now we're the best team in the NFL," said Green Bay resident, Blair Markowski. "This is the best thing that's happened to me in my life!"

Even fans from out of town, like a couple young fans from Detroit, came to the home of the Packers to celebrate.

"I kind of ran out of the hotel room and then everyone kind of followed me, so it all just happened," explained Detroit resident, Alex Kersteetter.

But the hundreds of excited fans didn't make it easy for traffic to flow down Lombardi Avenue.

Fans gathered along the rails in front of Lambeau, slapping hands and cheering as cars honked and drove by.

"This is the only place you'd want to be," exclaimed fan, Kate Kapellen.

But despite the traffic back-up, those in the cars didn't seem to mind.

Even though fans planned to celebrate throughout the night, most say they will be back out for the parade Monday afternoon to welcome the Champs when they return.
