GREEN BAY - Some Packers fans are upset with the so-called "Packer Fence Painter" after he picked his own slogan for the new fence along Lombardi Avenue.

Christopher Handler had promised to give a 42-inch flat-screen television to the person who submitted the winning slogan. He ended up picking his own idea: "Packer Fans Bleed Green and Gold."

"It's just not fair, he should have given that prize to someone and the slogan should have been picked from the people that sent it in," said Rose Smith of Green Bay.

Smith, who submitted "Favre'ng our Mr. Rodger's Neighborhood!," said she isn't upset her idea wasn't picked. Her anger is over how the "contest" was handled.

"I think anyone, if they're running a contest and they say there's going to be a prize, there should be a prize to someone," said Smith.

Handler declined FOX 11's request for an on-camera interview. He did tell us on the phone he was inspired to come up with his own slogan after donating blood recently.

"If I didn't give blood, I would have picked somebody," said Handler.

Handler said he doesn't even have the 42-inch television and that he had planned to purchase it with his own money.

Many of the people who submitted ideas say Handler did not deliver on what he promised.

"I think it kind of took a little bit of the fun away from it," said Smith.

Handler earned the nickname "Packer Fence Painter" after painting another fence along Lombardi Avenue for the last eight years. He has even trademarked the name and his well-known outfit.

This year, however, Handler moved to a new location a few houses down after having a falling out with the owner of the old fence.

The old fence was still painted this year. The slogan is: "In Coach McCarthy We Trust."
