Fireplace fire damages home

SHEBOYGAN COUNTY - A fire in Sheboygan County Saturday caused significant damage to a home, but no one was injured.

Authorities said around 1:40 pm, the Sheriff’s department received a 911 call of a house fire at W9131 Cth D in the Town of Scott.

Sheriff’s officers were told a fire in the fireplace had gotten out of control.

Deputies along with fire departments from Beechwood, Batavia, Kewaskum and Boltonville responded to the fire scene.

The home is owned by Frank Hetzel. He was not initially home at the time of the incident but another adult resident was.
