MILWAUKEE (AP) - One of two Americans who died after a helicopter involved in Haiti aid efforts crashed in the Dominican Republic is a former Wisconsin business owner.

James Jalovec is a former owner of Milwaukee-based A&J Cartage Inc., a sewerage hauling firm.

Dominican officials say the 53-year-old and his 43-year-old pilot, John Ward, of Fort Myers, Fla., were killed Thursday when their helicopter crashed into a mountain in the western Dominican Republic province of Dajabon.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported that Jalovec used to live in Franklin and was part owner of Oak Creek Storage and Handling Inc.

He moved to Naples several years ago, after selling A&J Cartage. He was also the owner of Sweetwater Environmental, a wastewater hauling company in Sebring, Fla.
