GREEN BAY - The Green Bay Packers are bringing the Lombardi Trophy back to Titletown.

For one night, Mardi Gras had nothing on downtown Green Bay.

“Everything is out of control,” said Chris Apriesnig of Appleton.

Green Bay Police estimate about 10,000 people packed the blocked off downtown streets to celebrate the return of the Lombardi trophy.

“It's where it belongs, so its great to have it home again,” said Dan Kudek of Green Bay.

“I moved down for the football from Canada and tonight it's all been worth it,” said Matt Myke of Ontario, Canada.

“I'm feeling awesome,” said Shonna Fuerst of Green Bay. “This is great. I knew it was going to happen.”

“A feeling I haven't had in about 14 years since the last time we won so it's awesome,” said Apriesnig.

“I guess we didn't really expect the influx of people that we had come down here,” said Lt. Jerry Johnson with the Green Bay Police Department.

Police say while overall things were safe, many people were removed from the downtown area for various reasons including burning jerseys.

“For the most part fans were great and they were just reveling in the moment,” said Johnson.
