Kaukauna JV hoops coach collapses, dies

KAUKAUNA, Wis. - Kaukuana high school is mourning the death of one of their basketball coaches today.

JV coach Joe Buelow collapsed and died at practice last night with the entire basketball team in attendance.

The 46 year old Buelow had been with the Kaukauna program for four years, and initial indications are that he had a heart attack.

School officials told me tonight Buelow was administered CPR and that trained professionals used a defibrillator without success.

Buelow had a son on the team who was at practice and daughter who is the team manager.

A visitation will be held Friday at Boettcher Funeral Home in Kaukauna from 3-8 pm, with a funeral on Saturday.
