GREEN BAY - Monday night the Packers not only celebrated a victory over the Ravens, but the organization celebrated the military as well. As part of "Military Appreciation Night" some military families received a special honor at half time.
On Monday night, halftime at Lambeau Field was the highlight of the game for four Wisconsin military families.
The LeTexiers are one of the families with a rich military history, who got to be at center field for a few moments.
"It was powerful," said Master Sgt. David LeTexier of New Lisbon. "You can't really put words to the feeling you get. Everybody's out there clapping for you, thanking you, it's overwhelming and you can't stop smiling, ya know. We're on the grass! We're on the frozen tundra! You want to roll around on it!"
But one family member wasn't on the field: Chief Warrant Officer Debra LeTexier is in Baghdad right now.
"She'll be coming back sometime in January," David LeTexier said of his wife. "Really looking forward to seeing her."
Though Debra LeTexier, a wife to David and mother to Erin and Taylor, couldn't join the family on the field, she did get to say hello - on the big screen. It was something her family wasn't expecting.
"It's great! She popped up first and we were looking - is that her? Yeah, that was awesome," said David LeTexier.
"That was amazing! I loved it!" said Taylor LeTexier.
The other military families were also excited about the half time honor.
"It's so good to see him. We're very anxious for him to come home. He looked wonderful," Theresa Murray said after seeing her husband, Lt. Col. David Murray on the big screen.
"No clue. No clue. It was a complete ambush," said Master Sgt. Pete Rockwell of seeing his deployed son Daniel on the big screen. "And for him to give me a shout about the go Packers - he's a die hard steelers fan, so that was real hard for him to say that, but I appreciate it."
"It was awesome to see her up there, it was cool," said Sfc. Kurt Berberich of his wife Lt. Katie Berberich. "This was awesome. This was really neat, to be down on the field, got to see the Packers score a touchdown right before half, while we were down there, that was real cool."
Seeing their loved ones on the big screen is a moment to savor, until they welcome them home in person.
All four soldiers who were honored at halftime are serving either in the Wisconsin Army National Guard or the Wisconsin Air National Guard.
