Big winners of Dallas giveaway contest

GREEN BAY - Residents of St. John's homeless shelter in Green Bay, Ouida Wright and her boyfriend Aaron say they never would've imagined winning a trip to Super Bowl XLV in Dallas.

The couple won two tickets to the game, hotel accomodations and travel expenses from the Dallas Convention and Visitors Bureau.  The DCV put on a contest where participants had to log on to its Facebook page to find a secret phrase.  The phrase was, "Have you been to Dallas lately?"  The DCV sent what they called a "mystery man" to walk around the streets of Green Bay.  The first person to utter the secret phrase to him would win the Super Bowl package.

On Saturday, Wright and her boyfriend left a local soup kitchen to walk around downtown for the Winterfest on Broadway event.  After being approached by others who were looking for the "mystery man," the couple caught on to what the contest was all about.  The fourth person they uttered the secret phrase to revealed himself the "mystery man," and them as the winners of the giveaway.

"I'm homeless and I thought someone was just messing with me," said Wright in a live interview on Sunday's Good Day Wisconsin.  "Then we saw the cameras.  We had 90-cents in our pockets and we have won a package that people would have offered thousands of thousands of dollars for."

While the DCV offered some travel expenses as part of the giveaway, the couple was still worried they wouldn't be able to make the trip given their financial situation.  In a surprise move, the Dallas Convention & Visitors Bureau's "mystery man" told the couple the organization would now pay for their airfare.  They were surprised live on Sunday's Good Day Wisconsin.

"I promised myself I was not going to cry and then you go and do this," said Wright after the announcement.
