FREEDOM - Wisconsin may not be the home to the big Powerball jackpot, but 11 tickets sold here in the state are still worth some big bucks.
And three of them, are right here in our area.
The Powerball frenzy is over and most people are left with, well, disappointment.
"I have to go to work tomorrow, so yea," said Suzette Guelker of Freedom.
But at least some people here in Northeast Wisconsin didn't walk away completely empty handed.
"She's like oh you won $4 and I'm like okay thanks," said Freedom resident James Frederickson. "Better than nothing, paid for this ticket!"
"We won I think it was seven cents we came in with as winners, so I'm looking forward to spending it," explained John Dobyns of Oshkosh.
However, a $2 Powerball ticket turned into $10,000 for three lucky people who purchased tickets in our area.
One ticket was sold in Marinette.
Another lucky ticket was sold in Fond du Lac from what's called the "Miracle Mile," which has gained notoriety for selling winning tickets.
The other one was purchased in Freedom.
"Pretty much every person that came in bought a ticket," explained Freedom Mini Mart owner Holly Clausen.
Clausen says this is the second $10,000 ticket she's sold since 2009. She's hopeful the streak will continue.
"It's very exciting, it's always exciting to have a winning ticket sold in a small town," Clausen said. "We could be the next 'Miracle Mile,' that would be wonderful!"
If you have one of the winning tickets, you have 180 days to claim your prize.
A $1 million ticket was sold in West Allis. The names of the winners have not been released.
