OSHKOSH - We are learning new details about a welcome home ceremony for some local soldiers.
The event for the Oshkosh-based 1157th Transportation Company will be held Friday at 1 p.m. on the EAA grounds.
More than 120 members of the 1157th are returning home after serving in Afghanistan for nearly a year. They arrived back in the U.S. last week and have been demobilizing in Mississippi.
Friends and family are welcome at the event. It is not open to the public.
Gov. Scott Walker, Maj. Gen. Don Dunbar, and senior Wisconsin Army National Guard leaders will be in attendance at the ceremony.
