FOND DU LAC - It's the silver lining in a horrific tragedy.
Following a deadly motorcycle crash in Fond du Lac County in May, a local Harley-Davidson motorcycle dealership raised $25,000 for victims and this week delivered the money.
Twelve members of the Muskegon Motorcycle Gang were riding back home to Michigan when a car crossed the centerline on Highway 151 in Fond du Lac County and hit ten of the motorcyclists.
One died at the scene while another died several days later. Eight other riders were injured.
A Hilbert man is awaiting trial on charges of second-degree reckless homicide.
Open Road Harley-Davidson in Fond du Lac raised the money for the families of the victims.
And this week Fond du Lac riders delivered the check.
"There is definitely a connection and I think we have new found friends which is really exciting. There's a silver lining to everything and the fact that we are essentially strangers but strangers that are willing to help and that really care,” said Lori Thiel with Open Road Harley-Davidson.
The money will help pay medical expenses for the injured riders.
