Dianna Siveny appears in court on Lara Plamann homicide charges

$1 million cash bond set

APPLETON - Family members of Lara Plamann said Monday they had their suspicions about who killed their sister in 2007.

Plamann's former lover, 53-year-old Dianna Siveny is now one of three women charged in her murder.

Siveny made her first appearance in Outagamie County court Monday morning.

Siveny's daughter, 34-year-old Kandi Siveny is also charged. So is 39-year-old Rosie Campbell.

Family members of Lara Plamann say they have been waiting for this day to come.

"It tried our patience, it's been a long time, we know that, they know that," said Plamann's brother Casey Plamann.

But when the Outagamie County Sheriff's Department broke the news to the family last week.

"It was totally out of the blue, very surprising," said Plamann's sister Abby Hopfensperger.

Plamann was found shot to death in 2007 in a shed on the property she shared with Dianna Siveny.

According to the criminal complaint, Siveny suspected Plamann was cheating on her. One theory investigators have been tirelessly chasing for more than five years.

"You never know what's going to come, you never know who is suddenly going to make statements, but law enforcement has not slept on this one, I can tell you that," said Outagamie County District Attorney Carrie Schneider.

In the complaint, Rosie Campbell came forward with key information last week. Campbell told investigators she was offered $5,000 by Siveny and her daughter Kandi to kill Plamann. But when Campbell and Kandi Siveny arrived at Plamann's house, Campbell says she couldn't go through with it. Campbell told investigators Kandi Siveny then allegedly grabbed the gun and said "I'll do it, I'll just do it."

Authorities say Campbell also turned over a bullet taken from the alleged murder weapon that matches the type of bullet found in Plamann's body during the autopsy.

"In the last three weeks or four weeks a lot has developed on this case and that has helped us get to where we are," said Schneider.

A place Plamann's family is relieved to be.

"They've been resilient on this from the beginning, it tried our patience, it's been a long time, we know that, they know that but without their perseverance and dedication on this we never would have gotten to where we are today, so now it's in the courts and we can let them decide," said Plamann.

Kandi Siveny and Rosie Campbell are awaiting extradition in a Minnesota jail. Dianna Siveny will be back in Outagamie County court next month. All three could be facing life in prison.
