GREEN BAY - The civil lawsuit filed against former Calumet County District Attorney Ken Kratz has been settled.
Kratz resigned after being accused of sending racy text messages to a domestic abuse victim Stephanie Van Groll. Van Groll filed a federal lawsuit alleging Kratz sexually harassed her.
She was seeking unspecified damages. A trial was scheduled for next week in Green Bay federal court. However, according to federal court records, the suit has been settled.
Van Groll's attorney, Michael Fox, wrote the court "additional documents may follow but all the parties are in agreement subject to the final paperwork necessary to effectuate the settlement.
FOX 11's calls to Fox and Ted Tornehl, Kratz's attorney, were not immediately returned.
Kratz, who now works at a West Bend law firm, declined to comment, referring questions to Tornehl.
The state Office of Lawyer Regulation has recommended the state Supreme Court suspend Kratz's law license for six months. The court has yet to issue a decision on the recommendation.
