Man charged in child porn case

APPLETON - A former Appleton man has been charged with five counts of possession of child pornography as a repeater.
State agents as well as Appleton police say they went to Andreas Petanitis' Appleton home on Sept. 24, after his email address had been linked to uploads of child pornography on the Internet. Officers say Petanitis, 25, agreed to let them search a laptop computer. They found several images of children engaged in sexually explicit conduct located in an instant-messaging folder on the computer's hard drive.
According to court records, Petanitis currently lives in Eau Claire.
He is due back in court Dec. 17.
