APPLETON - Appleton firefighters put out a chimney fire on Sunday.

Firefighters say they were called to the 700 block of S. Daybreak Dr. late Sunday afternoon. Crews were able to contain the fire to the exterior of the chimney enclosure and keep it from spreading to the house.

No one was hurt.

Firefighters say this fire serves as a reminder to people who use wood-burning fireplaces to have their chimneys and fireplaces inspected and cleaned by a professional every year before the heating season begins.
