OSHKOSH, Wis. (AP) - Attendance was up at the Experimental Aircraft Association's convention in Oshkosh this year.
According to the EAA, attendance was at 541,000, which is up about 1.3 percent for the seven-day AirVenture that ended Sunday.
More than 10,000 aircraft flew in to Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh and other airports in east-central Wisconsin. There were more than 2,500 show planes.
In a statement Tuesday, EAA president and chief executive office Rod Hightower said this year was a "tremendous success."
Highlights this year included the first time the general public could tour the Boeing 787 Dreamliner and appearances by filmmaker George Lucas, actor Harrison Ford, pilot Chuck Yeager and famed aerospace designer Burt Rutan.
