DARBOY - The weather outside might be chilly, but there was plenty of warmth indoors in Darboy.
Volunteers fired up their sewing machines and made hundreds of blankets for children in need.
The group filled the gym of the Holy Spirit School for "Make a Blanket Day."
People of all ages spent the afternoon sewing 700 fleece blankets and quilts.
Coordinators said many of the volunteers help out year after year.
"This group of people comes in and they laugh and they talk, they sit down at the table, they meet somebody new. They learn some new techniques. It's very fun. It's in the order of like an old fashioned sewing meet," said Project Linus coordinator Melody Buchinger.
The blankets will be donated to children in hospitals, homeless shelters and domestic violence shelters.
