Charlie Knuth is improving from his latest health battle.
The Fox Valley boy is recovering from a second stem cell transplant to treat a painful skin disease.
His bone marrow counts had dropped and he went back into the hospital earlier this month with a blood infection and pneumonia.
In her online journal, his mother Trisha says his latest bone marrow biopsy showed that the marrow is producing red and white blood cells, and platelets.
She says Charlie most likely caught an unknown virus and his bone marrow was suppressed.
She says his skin is looking better, and he is playing and laughing again.
