APPLETON - People from around the world kicked off the season of Lent on Wednesday.

In Northeast Wisconsin, Ash Wednesday services took place across the area. The video to the left is from Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Appleton.

The Lenten season helps Christians prepare for Easter.
