GRAND CHUTE - Some donors gave blood at the Community Blood Center in Grand Chute on Christmas Eve.
But employees of the center say donations drop during the final weeks of December.
The number of blood drives also takes a dip.
Even though people are busy, the demand is still there.
"Blood donations this time of year are especially important," said Donor Recruitment Leader, Diane Beatty. Adding, "It helps just a variety of people. Whether it's a cancer patient, whether it's someone going in for surgery, an accident, a trauma."
This center, just one of several in the area, serves 18 hospitals in 13 counties.
