OSHKOSH - December 25th might be over, but many area revelers are continuing their Christmas celebrations through the week.
At the Paine Art Center in Oshkosh, the Zickert family is still in the holiday mood thanks to Nutcracker in the Castle. Mom Karen told FOX 11 they came in from Traverse City, Michigan to visit family for Christmas and have a full schedule.
"We were outside playing in the snow this morning and we like to keep them busy and expose them to things like this. It's a great opportunity to see some unusual and different things," said Zickert.
The display lasts through January 6th, because many families are like the Zickerts.
"People aren't always finished celebrating, especially if their family is still in town, they're still looking for things to do," said Kelli Marsicek, marketing coordinator for the Paine Art Center.
Others stay in the spirit by catching the sight of decorations before they're gone.
Another tradition, the Celebration of Lights in Oshkosh continues through December 31st.
And kids of all ages are heading for the hills: some sledding and some skiing.
Karen Zickert told us the most important part of continuing the celebration is that it helps the Christmas spirit survive that much longer.
"It just makes us thankful and grateful for all the wonderful things we have," said Zickert.
And spending time doing something fun and new with the ones they love is time well-spent.
"Since we've come 9 hours to get here, we just want to make it last as long as we can," said Zickert.
