APPLETON - A community outreach group rolled into the Fox Valley Saturday to help those who can't afford basic necessities.
The second annual Convoy of Hope was held at the Fox Valley Technical College Appleton campus.
Organizers say the goal is to reach out to thousands of people in the area who are struggling financially.
The outreach includes free groceries, health screenings, free haircuts, job fairs and various activities for children.
"This is not just an event to give a, a one day handout event. It's a hand up. Because we believe we're going to see lives change as they get connected to the right organizations, or people, or education," said organizer Steve Nickel.
Approximately 1,000 volunteers from churches, local businesses, the tech college and community organizations came together for the outreach effort.
