OSHKOSH - The ice was flying in downtown Oshkosh Saturday.
Ice carvers were busy chipping away at some frosty creations for the Heart of Winter Celebration.
The ice sculptures even included an ice throne.
The event offered plenty of other winter activities for families, including winter carriage rides and ice bowling.
Organizers said the celebration creates a fun downtown atmosphere, despite the cold temperatures.
"We thought we needed something in downtown Oshkosh that was kid-oriented...a festival, a winter festival or a winter carnival, just to kind of bring people out and to have some fun downtown," said organizer Chanda Anderson.
The winter celebration is in its second year.
All proceeds from the event will go to the Day by Day Warming Shelter in Oshkosh.
