MENASHA - Ancient fossils, glittering gemstones and handmade jewelry.
Those were the items on display and up for sale at the annual "Fox Rocks!" show in Menasha this weekend.
In addition to raffles and a silent auction, the event also featured live demonstrations.
Visitors could watch colorful gems being cut and polished.
They could also catch a glimpse of an ancient crocodile skull.
Organizers say the show is both fun and educational.
"You can learn an incredible amount about geology, the minerals that are here and the fossils. And you can see how gems are made. So it's all about earth science," said event coordinator Gary Richards.
Event proceeds help fund educational projects at the Weis Earth Science Museum at UW Fox Valley in Menasha.
