Fire briefly shuts down Mercury Marine Plant

FOND DU LAC - Fire briefly shut down a Mercury Marine plant early Saturday morning.

The company says around 6:50 a spark ignited oil in one of the machines and started on fire.

The blaze was contained to one of the machines in plant 15.

The machine's operator was evaluated after the fire, but returned to work without any injuries.

The plant was shut down for about 90 minutes because of the incident.

Company officials say the building had no structural damage. There was no damage estimate given for the machine.
