APPLETON - The Presidential race once again took aim at Northeast Wisconsin. Michelle Obama was in Appleton Friday afternoon.
Mrs. Obama started her speech by talking about her husband's personal qualities.
"We've seen his values at work, we've seen his vision unfold, we've seen the depths of his character, courage and conviction," said Obama.
The first lady told the audience part of the President Obama's character is his commitment making difficult decisions that will help others.
"When you work hard and then you've done well and you finally walk through that doorway of success you don't slam it shut behind you, you reach back and you give other folks the same chances that helped you succeed," said Obama.
Joshua Graber is the President of the Lawrence University Republicans. He told FOX 11 it was good to see the first lady, but he would have preferred a visit from her husband.
'We'd like to see what he has planned if he were to get re-elected, that's the big thing, we'd like to see him come out and do his campaigning," said Graber.
Graber told us President Obama's time in office has left him with serious doubts.
"He's had his time and he's struggled a little bit with job creation and he's struggled with the deficit and I think that's something that needs to be turned around in the next election," said Graber.
Graber said he and his fellow Republicans are working to get Mitt Romney elected.
But Mrs. Obama disagrees with the GOP. She said the President has accomplished a lot in one term. She asked the crowd to help spread that message.
"I want you to tell them about the millions of jobs Barack created, tell them about how he passed healthcare reform, tell them about all of our kids who will be able to afford college," said Obama.
Both sides still have more than a month to get their messages out.
