KAUKAUNA - Going once, going twice...
Some area hobbyists competed to be the highest bidder at a tropical fish auction.
Members of the Green Bay Aquarium Society gathered at the Kaukauna Municipal Building for Sunday's event.
Auction items included tanks, filters, aquatic plants and, of course, fish!
The auction was free and open to the public.
Club leaders said interest in the hobby of raising and breeding tropical fish has increased over the years.
"We started out with very few people, and as of today we got standing room only. So it's grown considerably since when I started," said Ron Greunke with the Green Bay Aquarium Society.
Proceeds from the event will help maintain aquariums at the Brown County Libraries in Green Bay and Pulaski.
