FOND DU LAC - Fond du Lac police are warning people of a possible phone scam.

Officers say someone has been calling people claiming to be raising money for the Fond du Lac Police Benevolent Association. Neither the Fond du Lac Police Benevolent Association nor its state affiliate, the Wisconsin Professional Police Association, is currently conducting phone solicitations.

Police say the calls could be from an unknown national law enforcement association - or they could be part of a scam.

Anyone who receives one of these calls is asked to contact Fond du Lac police at (920) 906-5555.
